FamilyWorks
FamilyWorks offers a wide array of Food Access and Family Support Programs, as well as Resources & Referrals to their partners throughout King County. Designed for families in North Seattle but open to all, their programs are low-barrier and easy to access. Food Resources: Food bank, Groceries to Go, mobile food pantry, home delivery, “No-Cook” emergency food bags, Weekend PowerPack program, family food bags
Family Support Programs: Play & Learn groups, parenting classes and workshops, community and empowerment programs, community closet of kids’ essentials, Promoting First Relationships home visit program
Resources & Referrals: Support with rental assistance, utility discount programs, ORCA LIFT (reduced transit fare), Medicaid enrollment, SNAP/EBT, etc.
Solid Ground
Solid Ground works to end poverty and undo racism and other oppressions that are root causes of poverty. Language interpretation and reasonable accommodations for disabilities are available upon request.
Housing: Tenant services and education, housing counseling, rapid rehousing, case management, Regional Access Point (RAP) Shelter Diversion, emergency shelter
Accessible Transportation: ACCESS bus rides, downtown Seattle Easy Loop bus
Resource Connections: Legal help accessing public benefits, help navigating Medicare, Resource Wire frequent updates
King County Regional Homelessness Authority (KCRHA)
Regional Services Database: Information about 400+ programs for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Filters include population served, services offered, if pets are allowed, walk-in vs. referral, location, etc. Programs include emergency shelters, day centers, safe parking, sanctioned encampments, Transitional Housing, Permanent Housing, Coordinated Entry projects, and access points for Veterans. Not included: outreach programs, public spaces, and certain services-only programs.

Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center

Resource Center: Resource database, peer advocates, LGBTQ+ library, mutual aid closet and food pantry,
Free Wellness Center: HIV and STI testing, PrEP navigation, gender affirming hormone therapy, health insurance navigation, Sexual Health & Prevention Navigators, Project NEON (Needle and sex Education Outreach Network) harm reduction program, mental health counseling
Youth: Drop-in space, peer mentorship program, peer support groups, arts program, Access to Change online diversion program
A Resting Place
A Resting Place (ARP) is a grief & loss cultural resource center located in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District. A Resting Place offers a peaceful, no-cost refuge for navigating separation & loss through letter writing, interactive healing-arts workshops and commemorative activities to honor the deceased.
Community Altar: Place a photo of a deceased loved one here to honor them.
Local & National Therapeutic Grief Resources: Free resources to take home, bereavement support tools, info about local grief counseling, list of local and national resources
Grief Support Library: Fiction and nonfiction books and resources for adults and children to engage during their visit. Works span many intersections of grief including culture, language, and spirituality
Letter & Art Making: Engage and express feelings, hopes, prayers, etc. through words or art
Events: Events and workshops led by local artists and practitioners engage food, music, art, plants, craft, wellness practices, and more. ARP also gathers for advocacy actions, tending systemic sources of grief and loss.
